yes it is possible. 230 for sure. Just turbo back up pipe and a good tune will get you very close to 220. Add a better tmic and headers and a good tune from ed of eq tuning and your good to go. Your in nor cal so ask ed to point you in the right direction for your tuning and he will take care of you. If you really want your 250 that might be a bit harder probably 100 octane or water injection. Like i said before talk to ed and have him tune your car youll be happy.

the car comes with 227 at the crank, so you don't have far to go if that's your goal..

It all depends on the dyno, but with a stock turbo and intercooler you'll be lucky to get 220whp on a mustang dyno even with headers.
On a mustang with an uprated VF34 turbo, no cats and all ancillary components you will look to make 240-250whp.

^^^ Really? It's more of a driver input than anything else, unless running a huge turbo, reaching higher than 300whp+. It will then become an issue (especially on the tranny).
Achieving 230whp is more realistic than 250whp. A full TBE and a very good tune might just get you there, if not, a tad bit shy to it. I rarely see someone reaching 250whp on a stock turbo. If you're aiming for 250+whp, a turbo upgrade will get you there with ease. A VF39 or better will get you well above 250whp.

Cobb stage 2 (an off the shelf map) will net you 224 at the wheels and is very reliable with the OE "internals, clutch, and all that stuff of course". I have 96ish K on my 02, its Cobb stage 2 plus an uppipe and has been that way for around 80K. I track and auto X the car and the oe clutch and internals have held strong.

I'm not positive but I doubt 250 WHP is possible with the oe turbo. There is a guy running a ported OE turbo (Deadbolt Monster TD04), alcohol injection, TBE, uppipe, and a tune and he's putting down 240 at the wheels with 252 foot lbs.

My 2002 wrx wagon / stock turbo
This was in May '06 with 55K miles, gutted up, TurboXS TBE (hi-flow cat/standard muffler), IC hoses and TurboXS TMIC. Also boost and egt gauges.
This is a killer setup, so fun! Supposedly its a conservative tune as the car came in running badly retarded timing and Mike @ Gruppe-S didnt want to run a hot tune. Ive heard stock STi's do between 215/215~225/225 hp/tq on this dyno in comparison. It hits and holds 16-18lbs max boost and is very responsive; egts are good, even when flogged hard on the freeway.
Depending on the dyno, 230-250whp is def. achievable. Especially when you add things like good gas, headers or water/alky injection.
BTW, the GS dyno reads real low. Anyone have any guesses on what this would read on a different dyno?

I’m surprised you’re pushing up to 18psi on the oe turbo and still maintaining good egt temps. Where is your egt bung tapped and what are the readings?

EGT is tapped on the exhaust manifold...cylinder 3 or 4...cant remember. I can floor it 1st to 4th gear....I think I hit 1500-1600 degress around 100mph in 4th...? Again I cant remeber. Whenever it gets around 1550 I usually let off or shift to 5th just to be safe.
It wont hold 18psi unless its a really cold night or evening, it usually spikes to 18, holds at 15-17 throughout the rev range then tapers down to ~13 or 14 near redline. I should have clarified that in my post.
I need a vf22.
