3rd gear on the highway all day? It's an '05 but still that is insane.

Sorry I didnt read that it was an 05. It sounds like what was going on with my 06. Check and see if the downpipe is hitting against the transmission brace or somewhere down there. When I first put my downpipe on it sounded like the car was rattling apart from under the engine and with a little bit of elbow grease and retightening all the bolts down, its all gone.
The sound I heard was really loud and I could feel it in my feet and when holding the shift ****. The way I fixed it was take the cat-back and midpipe apart and also take the bolt out of the other mount near the transmission. I bent the bracket a little bit to give clearance from the transmission bracket and it went back in fine and I have not heard the noise since that day.
The way I checked it was to rev to around 3-4K and have someone outside the car looking underneath to see if they see the downpipe moving around. It wont do it all the time sitting still, but I could still see it.
I hope this helps and I hope you keep the suby.

I have an 02 Cobb stage 2 with 97k (around 70-80K @ stage 2) and I haven't had any problems whatsoever.
BTW, nothing against Mustangs or SHO's (2 pretty cool cars) but It's a statistical fact that a Subaru is way more reliable than a Ford.
Good luck with the next purchase.
