searched around here and on nasioc and couldn't find the answer. very possible i missed it but i checked the through the forums first before posting so please no hate posts haha.

As the title says, will the 2005 usdm sti uppipe fit on my 2002 wrx? ALSO, if it will, will this prevent me from passing smog since I am removing a cat? I have read that as long as the other two cats are warm before i take the smog test i should pass emissions. I figured a stock subaru part would pass the visual inspection.

it should fit fine my friend fit a STi uppipe on his '03 with no issues. not too sure about the smog thing though.

 

i don't have first hand experience(I'm not going to have to smog my car untill 2011)
From what I read on the forums. you will pass smog with a cat less up pipe. you will need the stock down pipe for pass smog.
I had an sti up pipe on my wrx before. no problems

 

Yeah you'll be fine and smog since STi's have a catless uppipe then your 02 will.Enjoy it
