02 wrx have a speed limiter?
I was racing a ws6 last night and i buried the speedo. Last time i looked at the tach it was about 6,200 rpm. I was still floored. Then a few seconds later the car felt like it hit a wall. It was either the rev limiter or a speed limiter. The guy in the ws6 said his speedometer was at about 157. I was pushing about 19 psi on 104 octane and i didn't keep an eye on the boost gauge like i should have. I didn't get a cel for fuel cut either.
Next day car runs fine and still strong. My question is given the rev range and such would the top speed of a wrx be around 157 if hit the rev limiter in 5th? Or do you think i hit a speed limiter at like 155? I have delta dash and it has said that i was doing 157 before on the logs. I just want to make sure i didn't hurt my car.
car is a 5 speed by the way

May not be the speed limiter. Heard (Vishnu & Subaru?) that the intercooler intake is not nearly as effective at speeds in high 4th gear and of course high 5th. This has resulted in EGTs going up if you keep the pedal down (ie a top speed run) and this may have resulted in the ECU backing off timing, adding fuel, backing off boost, etc.
04 hood scoop w/ its higher profile should solve some of this problem....and some people w/ 02-03s have been putting on 04 scoops partly for this reason.
