Vishnu XEDE vs. reflash

I have been comparing the Vishnu XEDE to the stage sub-zero reflash. I am under the impression that I can install the XEDE to "piggy-back" the stock ECU and simply download the stage sub-zero software and see the same resulst as the reflash. The XEDE costs $45 more than the stage sub-zero reflash but I can simply download new software or retune it myself if I upgrade to the stage zero. Plus I can remove the XEDE and the ECU will be stock.

I guess I don't see the point in getting the reflash AND the XEDE as I have read in other posts, unless you want to do fine tuning yourself, which I don't plan on anytime soon.

Is this right? or am I really off? All advice is greatly appreciated.

I've read EVERYTHING and my questions are not answered. I've read the entire Vishnu webpage and I've emailed Vishnu.

None of this, as of yet, has provided me with the answer to my questions.

Howdy,

I'll try to tackle this question. Unless you plan on learning about the ins and outs of engine management tuning, I'd suggest going with the ECU reflash. The XEDE, while very capable in the right hands, can be equally troublesome if the tuner is not capable of tuning. There are baseline maps, of course which will get you up to speed quickly. But if that's what one is relying on (instead of tuning), I'd suggest going with a reflash instead. Just plug-in and go.

Cheers,
shiv

Thank you for your reply. I also sent an email to sales@vishnu.com, I suppose you can disregard it since I heard it straight from the source.
