Unichip Stage 2
#2
The guys at txs told me that the unichip is not compatible for the 03 wrx. Last year I tried to install my cousins unichip mapped for the txs stage 2 setup. I was running the txs stage 2 setup minus the unichip so I thought it was cool to just install it. We installed it and cranked the boost up to 16 lbs and **** it was fast. Then the next day my car couldn't boost more then 13 lbs and was running pretty bad. I think the ecu picked up on the unichip and didn't like it and basically pulled back the timing and boost. I dont know if txs was telling the truth because this was when they had just released their new UTEC system and was basically telling you in a nice way that you wasted your money buying our now older unichip. To be specific txs said that the 03 wrx ecu had a few more wires and thus go by our new $1000.00 UTEC. I would call I-speed or vishnu to see because they quote that they are able to tune unichips.

Oh yah!
I forgot to tell you! Get rid of the unichip! Compared to Xede, Ecutek, or utec it isn't as good as it use to be. The newer systems are smarter and adjust better for daily driving(except the Utec). If you need some info just read the thread called I need a local tuner in the bay area forum. Bill from I-speed and Shiv from Vishnu have posted on it. These guys are the best when it comes to tuning our cars.
