Trouble with electric fan switch..burning up!!

So awhile back my radiator fan stopped working for some reason, whether it be because I put a STi gauge cluster in or some other reason. So I hooked up a switch so I could turn it on and off as I pleased. The switch eventually ended up getting stuck in the on position so I had to switch it out. And now with the new button in it works, but it's getting super hot and I can smell the wires cooking..anyone know what this can be caused by and how to fix it?? Thanks

Drawing too many amps through the wire

the fix is just to get a new fan switch so its automatic and not a manuel switch
