Stock connector with aftermarket EGT probe
Hello,
Here is my idea. I have replaced the OEM uppipe with a TSX that has a single bung. I removed the stock EGT probe and replaced it with the ILP 'no weld' probe.
I have the expected CEL 'cause I haven't installed the CEL fix/resistor.
Now, I'm looking at the OEM probe/connector and wondering...."Is there any reason I can't cut off the OEM probe and connect the OEM wiring/connector to the ILP probe?" Then, plug it back in, to the stock harness, and get rid of the CEL? (see picture)
With regard to the OEM plug: Anyone know how to tell which terminal inside the connector is + and which is - ?
If this works, then:
Wiring up the VDO EGT gauge...
Would I be able to jumper in, to the correct leads, on the ECU? Would the parallel signal be sufficient to give the correct signal to the ECU and the EGT gauge?
