safc and wiretaps
so i installed my safc in my legacy, and i have a few questions.
1. is it really bad to use wire taps for instalation?
2. do the two grounds have to be exactly 1 cm apart?
3. when does the safc come on?
i installed it already using wiretaps, and i am not getting any power with the ignition on. my grounds are also about 2cm apart, because this all the close the wiretaps would allow me to put them.
also, does anyone know where the knock sensor wire is in the wiring harness? the safc instructions i have dont show one (because i have the safc II and need the knock sensor wire)
i really need some help here, i dont want to tear out the wire taps and solder everything, but i will if i have to!
also, the engine is not yet running, does this have anything to do with the safc now working? i should be able to setup base maps and the like without running the engine, correct?
thanks for any replies!

well
i went back and soldered all the wires into place after all. i didnt want to have to worry about it, so i just did it the right way.
it turns out that the reason the safc II wasnt working was because i had a ground disconnected <ground to the intake manifold> and it must have been causing the cpu to malfunction.
now to tune it...
