rookie car guy... need help with parts
i will post a few pics of idfferent parts on my engine... i'm ganna say this ahead of time... please do not make fun of my mostly stock 98 2.5rs engine.
here is the first picture it is from the driver side.
What is #1,2,and 3 and what is their main purpose. Thanks ahead of time. I'm not really great with import cars yet but i want to learn more... and i dont have the owners guide... i know i'm not the only 1 who will benefit from this engine 101 class
sry about the bad quality picture also... had to be less than 51200 bytes

lol i know man ... stock isnt that a shame? hehe
nah man i got this car less than a month ago and i put in 4.5K out of my own pocket, so i cant afford much, yet. Hopefully i'll get somethin at ups what do you people recomend as a first step to enchancing my car, i got like 300 so far w/o a job hopefully by the end of summer break i can have around 2000. But i probobly wont buy all the parts right away at 1 time, i want to take this over a long period of time so what should i get first? And dont say anything about wheels cause my dad is gettin me new 17's.

Make sure he gets you some nice all season tires as well.
If wheels/tires are out I would buy a rear anti-roll bar (sway bar). That with new tires makes a world of difference on the stock RS. After that, suspension and brake pads brake lines and good brake fluid. Go to some autocrosses and learn how to drive your car also. They are cheap and really teach you a lot. The bigger rear anti-roll bar will make your car easier to oversteer if you slam on the brakes mid turn.

Check out http://www.scca.org/interactive/regions.html
I don't know what region is closest to you but you should be able to figure it out.
