Reflash question
do you suggest a reflash on a 2005 wrx wagon? I have heard good things and bad things about it. I am looking for more power but don't have a lot of cash to just throw around, so the mods that I do I want to make a noticable difference. Should I get some other mods first or reflash first? And how much does a reflash usually cost?

I recommend some form of engine management upgrade even for an otherwise stock WRX or any late-model factory turbocharged Subaru. I have an EcuTek reflash but the Cobb Tuning AccessPORT is becoming increasingly popular, especially where a local tuner has the Cobb ProTUNER tools to perform a custom tune on the vehicle. The ability to store several different maps in various stages of tune can accomodate a street tune, a track-only map using race gas, etc.
If you plan on getting specific mods in the future, I would get/install the mods first, then get the tune and reflash afterwards. The custom tune or off-the-shelf reflash is matched to the mods you have. If you have specific vendors in mind for the reflash, you can contact them to ask what they recommend in the way of mods.
Cost for the EcuTek reflash license is around $650 and the Cobb AccessPORT license is around $595.
