ecu questions regarding upgrading
alright i just bought a stage 3 turbo for my 1995 subaru legacy ls 2.2l from forcedair tech and it works like a charm but i have a couple of problems
1. when i turn the car cold i have to hold the throttle open for it to work or else the car dies. also the engine light is on
2.i want to run 8 boost i currently run 5, i am getting the bigger injectors i have the fuel pump. now i need the dreaded engine management
3. first of all i have a torque chip form pdm. but i thinkm i need to upgrade to a whole new level of engine managment, do i?
also what chip is best and if you could explain the pro's and cons of each chip , and why i need them would help also how easy to install they are.
4. can i remap my cpu to be a t peace with the turbo to throttle right, and turn off that nasty light. and how easy is it to do it form a lap top or am i gonna need to get a proffesional todo it , is there a pre set map that i can load into the computer?
5. i have heard of the link chip i don't really understand it, and the greddy e-manage, i have headr good things about the aem managment system but don't know about it for subaru's
6. bottom line i am looking to make a engine managment purchase that i don't have to constantly upgrade till i rebuild my engine.

if your gonna rebuild your engine why not buy the engine management that will suit it when you do? and get you through now with good results?
To me ... it doesnt make sense to buy something now to get you through ... then only later to buy something else to replace it thats better.
but if you want to, I think you would do fine with just an S-AFR. You already have an upgarded chip ... now you just need to make sure the fuel is ok.
ECU's are only as good as their tuners
they all have their own set of issues but I dont think they are show stoppers. I have a Link in my setup. I think you would have to get the LinkPro wire in for yours if you did. Mine is the 44s plugin.
Tec3 ... mmm ... when I rebuild my WRX I plan on going to this. The level of control is just too exciting for me. LOL
