Question about ECU reset
After reading all the posts about resetting the ECU and seeing how it "learns" the driver, would it be wise to reset the ECU after the break-in period? I have an 04 sti and have been real careful about keeping the tach below 4 grand, but I have noticed, now that the car has 500 miles on it, that it does not have the same punch down low (2500-3500 rpm) that it did when I first started to drive it. What I was wondering is the car performing like this because the ECU has learned that the car is be driven in a "melow" manor?
Any input would be great.

I would suggest driving your car carefully throughout the breakin period so that you become more familiar with it, get used to the controls, etc. After breakin, then worry about stuff like increasing power. This is not a flame, but too many folks drive beyond their means in their new car and have accidents.

if i read him right.he was saying that the car lacks the power he thought it had previously.you may just be getting use to the car.a reset of learned memory will relearn fuel curves.but will always fine tune back to wear you are now.
