proECM Powerchip results
Hi peeps.
just wondering if any of you would liek to share experiences with the proECM PC-3?
i just installed mine on an EJ20 2001 and at first it idles rough! i noticed that throttle from 1k-3k RPM seems to be better but after that it seems to have dropped off after 4k-6kRPM???
torque does'nt seem to have improved. only the throttle. is it too early to tell? does the ECU need resetting or let it run for a while?
i've also noticed that the temperature guage rises more quickly and it seems to have gone up quite a bit for a short drive.
usually it is just below 1/2 way. now after 20 min drive its just ABOVE half way....hmmm
have'nt tested milage yet as its too early
thanks in advance peeps for your attention/comments.

i put the other chip in but still the same thing i think
on my 1.8 when i put my feet to the floor it has more power than it did before, revs better, power was raised alittle through out the rpm range
fuel has not changed but the week before i put a flywheel, new clutch and mounts(revs matching is so fun now)
it did not run rough when i put it in but i have heard other plp say this so it might be common on other years and different ecus
i did notice my temp go up like you described
yes try a ecu reset it might help but the temp will still be there and the roughness does smooth out
???EJ20 in a 2001 impreza???

jsut finnishing off the topic. i've just noticed fuel econ was crap as!!! normally get at least 400-450 km per tank. now i've got 300 after installing the proecm.
it was a tank of RON91.... hhhm.. would it be beter if i used RON98? cuz i dont know if proecm causes pinging.

When I had one in my RS I ran premium. As far as the MPG's mine went down at first mostly because of the way I was driving the car though testing the new chip

WOW that much of a difference in fuel
i dont think i even noticed a difference but then again i have a 1.8 NA and i started with 93 but you where running 91 why wouldnt you run 98 to help save engine especialy with as hot as the air your car ingests i mean doesnt it get 120F degrees and more down there
