Yep.. the IAT is in the MAF. This is one of the major design flaws of the Subie EM. Since the IAT is before the IC, the ECU has no way of knowing if the IC is heatsoaked or not... makes a tuner's life much more difficult.

So is there any way to "re-tap" the MAF somewhere else, possibly after the IC, to make tuning that much easier? Or would that mess with things too much and not be plausible?

Generally the MAF is supposed to be downstream of the turbo because they react funny to boost. I've had a couple ideas for re-locating the IAT alone, but none of them are too easy to do and require quite a bit of work with the ECU. I haven't given up on it yet though.

Naw I've just been reading up on little mods you can do to increase HP at WOT (wide open throttle) and one of em was a IAT mod. From what I've read if you put a simple resistor in the connector that goes TO the IAT sensor it will advance your timing and give ya a tad more HP at WOT. But i was just wondering. I'm really hoping to hear from some guys that do tuning to see if this is even possible. But if all else fails i'l just go get a PerfectPower ECU or something.

Mods like that are never a good idea. They trick the ECU into thinking the conditions are different than they actually are. This can deffinately cause issues and is never recomended.

Take the connector off of the MAF.
Look at the connector as it fits onto the MAF.
The wire 2nd from the left ( should be) the wire you quest for.

i think your sensor was in your airbox thing you removed anyways for the Injen.

you want power? go 4-1 headers, run 91 oct 76 gas, and get a perfect power and take that **** to mike.
