How well does the AccessPORT economy mode work? (was: AP question)

does anyone know how well the economy mode works? i know the ap v1 & v2 have this map. has anyone used it to see what there gas milage would be. for a wrx? Sti?

I used this map when I first got my AP. I think it works because it forces you to not floor it. The map says something along the lines of "not intended for hard use", and therefore, you baby the car and never go full throttle. I think it is more of a mind game.

what gas mileage did you get? i have to drive from norcal to san diego, and i dont want to feel up my tank 3 time on the way down there

^^^ you'll prob just get a couple of extra miles per gallon. I also just got the AP for my 05 sti and still have yet to try the econ mode

I heard econ mode isn't that great. Just keep the rpms low and resist the little bursts of speed.

sounds good. all i have so far is k&n short ram, so i guess that helps a little bit. on the highway i can get about 22~24 mpg (just tested it this weekend) but i was hoping for a little more

on the freeway Econo mode isn't going to help you very much because you're just cruising, which is the most economical state of the engine (besides OFF or idle) around town Econo mode only gave me about 1 mpg better that my protuned stage 2 map granny driving (problem is it takes A LOT of will power to granny drive in stage 2)
