some push 20psi+ with bigger turbos and supporting mods on the 2.0L

I wouldnt expect it to last long at that level though

there are some stock-turboed wrxs pushing 19+ psi, daily-driven. However, 15-16 psi would probably be a safer level.

To answer your question in full, with a proper boost conrtol you can push a constant 16.5 psi right below fuel cut-off (17 psi). Some people will claim that a stock WRX with BC (boost control) can handle up to 18 psi with no affects. I own an Apexi AVC-R BC and love it. You can control boost in every gear to fit the curve. Electronic over manual no doubt. Just for kicks I think the stock WRX runs 9.5 psi in 1-3rd and 14.5 in 4th and 5th. Not 100% on that though.

i believe it is 13.5 psi max in 4th and 5th. i know i don't push any boost in first gear and didn't when the car was stock either.

i believe 19 psi is the max before you start running into heat problems with the turbo.

Stock is 13.5psi - I recently installed my boost gauge, and it only says I am getting 10 psi Max, and my pressure is at 16.

Is the 16 pressure reading normal?

It should. Shiv dyno tuned my wagon, my boost will peak at around 16-17 psi wot in 4th on the freeway. This is with pulled timing.
