Crushing Stock BOV

I read that smashing in a stock BOV will allow it to hold more boost. Is this true? If so, is there a "proper" way of doing it, or is it simply giving it a couple good shots with a mallet? Tips?

Heres a tip. leave your stock BOV alone. Unless you have some super crazy turbo and your car is able to hold a ton of boost your BOV works perfectly fine.

Why would you crush your recirc valve?
The stock one works just fine.

Yeah I really just wanted to learn more about what the purpose was. I have an 18G with a Turbo XS TMIC on an 02. Just wanted to know if there might be any benefit to making that alteration.
