Cobb Stage 1 Gas Mileage Graph

I've been keeping track of my gas mileage before and after a Cobb Stage 1 93 Octane reflash from my AP. I graphed the last 22 tanks of gas on a control chart and as you can see gas mileage is no different between stock and stage 1. Only mod I have is a Scoobysport axle back exhaust.

The 2 tanks after the reflash where I got 28 and 27 MPG were pretty much all highway driving over a Memorial Day weekend trip. My driving style is on the gas as much as possible, but usually drive 90% of the time on back roads with little highway driving. Gas mileage overall may be a tick better than it was but definitely NOT significantly different than before the reflash.

Contemplating making a graph for the economy map, but really love Stage 1 too much to change it!

by those numbers, it doesn't seem like your into the gas all that much. I used to get 17 mpg regularly, but now with cobb stage one I'm around 19 to 22.

Only other mod is a cat back

Nope, I speed quite a bit...I've seen where different folks are getting different gas mileages depending on their car/location...there are a few who report normal gas mileage of 26-28 MPG for normal everyday driving with their WRX, wish I had one of those! I've heard of people that only can get 19-20 MPG at best with conservative driving...I think its a function of the gas you use and the car, not sure what Subaru's spec limits are for the various guts of the motor, turbo, cooling system...etc., I just know that by reading those other posts that different subaru's tend to consistently get different gas mileages...

I can say we get good gas here in New England (at least for now anyway, Dang Connnecticut making laws so Sunoco can't offer 94 up here anymore!)

That first tank with Stage 1 (24.4 MPG I believe) I was really into it all the time, a lot more than usual. I was surprised it wasn't 17 MPG! Every start was full throttle through the gears, and I never shift over 6000 RPM because I like my engine the way it is unwarped...

Maybe not driving as quickly as you but those are the numbers I got...

Its definitely noticable. THe best way I can explain it is 4th gear now feels like 3rd used to and 5th now feels like 4th...a lot peppier through gears 3-5...not too noticable through 1st and 2nd as they are pretty quick gears to start off with and you get the real boost gains in the taller gears anyway (3-5).

Spool up is slightly quicker and the whole car pulls harder through every gear though...definitely worth it!

Cobbs service is exceptional in my experience, and their product is as advertised. The AccessPort is really an incredible device!

Just got mine last Friday. I would not have believed a mere chip re-flash could make such a difference. Feels like the car has gotten anabolic steroids! This kind of thing could get addictive.....
