check engine light code P1091 HELP
I Am In Need Of Some Help. I Own A 04 Wrx Wagon. Aprx. 2 Weeks Ago The Check Engine Light Came On For Aprx 50 Miles Than Went Off. It Stayed Off For Aprx 2weeks Then Came On Again. I Was Noticing Severe Power Loss, Especially At Low Rpms And Virtually No Pick-up On Inclines. I Took Vehicle By Auto Zone, Code 1091 But They Didn't Have Any Idea What This Code Was. I Took It To The Dealer Yesterday And Was Told That It Was Tumble Generator Valve Stuck And The Repair Cost Would Be Aprx. 1500.00. I Have Aprx 85,000 Miles On It With No Extended Warranty; I Have Always Had All The Recommended Maintenance Performed. Any Help Would Be Apprecited.,

Have you done any modifications that involved removing or disturbing the manifold or working in that area? TGV problems sometimes result after injector installs or similar work where the TGV units can be either inadvertently damaged or removed and reinstalled incorrectly.
You might also get lucky and it could just be a loose electrical connector to the TGV, it's worth a try to unplug it and then plug it back in, and see if the problem clears up. If it doesn't the TGV may have to come out to be checked or replaced.
BTW this is not something that would be related to lack of maintenance, since the TGVs are not a serviced item.
