Similar thing happened with my moms car (1997 honda odyssey). Occasionally the car would just turn off and the check engine light came on. After a few services one of the techs sudgested we change gas, immediately solved the problem.

good gas: chevron, shell

bad gas: arco, astro

thats as much as I know about gas, anybody got any other opinions?

well gas ain't the problem. i wish that solved it. i use 76 or chevron all the time. the tech said it started misfiring in the #2 cylinder. and some valves got damaged. and as for akita sure that might be true but no abuse has come to my car. yes i floored it. not like i held the pedal down and just let it rev over and over. really i am sure that when you get on the highway you punch it. even if subaru started to claim abuse i can have an attorny really quick.

sorry 'bout your car, hopefully it'll be back and good as new asap. I dont think you'll have a problem with subaru.

1) Ray, you need the ground mod

2) green valley subaru is utter CRAP!

3) did you use lower than 91 oct? that's what it sound like. Maybe weren't paying attention at the pump, and grabbed the wrong nozel?

3) Chevron is not great for WRXs/STis. 76 is the most consistent with good gas.
