Wow, thank god i got a gfb stealth before the price raised! Hehhe. Hey brian, i was just curious if you know how to re-lube the stealth fx? Cuz mines tends to stick sometimes when i push the car and i want to try relubing it to see if that does the trick.

mike626 - Try this...

Instructions to lube GFB Stealth BOV

Get the right Allen head wrench.... I think it's a 3mm or 3.5mm. Place a rag under the BOV so parts cannot fall into the engine bay.

Step 1: pull the vacuum line of the BOV

step 2: remove the four Allen screws that hold the top on. As you get to the last screw, make sure you keep pressure on the top of the BOV or the spring inside will send it flying!!! And there are parts inside there that you could lose!!!

Step 3: slowly remove the top and keep one hand under it. There is a long spring and a cap that sits between the spring and the top of the BOV. Hold all this together and place it on the floor (things you don't want to fall from high belong on the floor)

step 4: pull the piston out of the BOV body. It’s not hard to get out...just get a few fingers in there and pull!!!!!

Step 5: get a clean rag.... spray with a silicone lubricant and wipe out the inside of the BOV body. Make sure everything is clean.

Step 6: spray the piston and wipe that off.

Step 7: spray the spring and all other metal parts.

Step 8: make sure there is a nice coating of lube on all parts before install.

Step 9: place piston back in BOV body, then place spring/cap/top assembly back on top and get one screw started so it doesn't fall into your lap when you let go.

Step 10: tighten all screws (use anti-seize, these parts are tiny and fragile...plus they get kinda hot, you don't wanna have any problems getting them out later) don't tighten too much.... very little torque needed!!!!

I found that I need to do this once a month during the winter.... that BOV just dries out really fast. Once the summer sets in I only have to lube it up every once in a while. You’ll know when cause the BOV won't vent well when it gets dirty!

I hope this helps!!

Thanks,
Brian

Hey Brian, did GFB ever make another trumpet for the BOVs? I think I recall you mentioning it somewhere...

huck - Here is a part describtion for you....

"You asked, we delivered. Many times we have been asked for a replacement trumpet that gives a different sound, and here it is. Simply screw this trumpet into any Stealth FX and it will produce an aggressive whistle that sets your car apart from others.
In normal driving conditions it gives a typical “whoosh” sound, but once the revs and boost level rise, a high pitch whistle noise takes over. Note that there are a few conditions that must be fulfilled to get the most out of this product.Your Stealth FX should be set to full atmosphere venting, and boost must be at least 10psi.The whistle noise is dependant on air velocity through the trumpet, and low-boost set-ups will not be effective."

I will work on getting you pics!

Thanks,
Brian
