And just in case you've always been curious about it, here's how the manufacturing process works:
First, they start with a disc of raw aluminum billet:
Name: 1Rawaluminumbillet.jpg Views: 13 Size: 14.8 KB

Then the billet is machined:
Name: 5Drillingofholes.jpg Views: 13 Size: 19.6 KB

The friction disc and any ring gears are attached:

Then its packaged and shipped to your door!
