Tranny Leak - Help please (duplicate post thread 48680)

Okay, I went to the dealer and
- First they "forgot" I had an appointment and now they wouldn't give me a loaner car, which the salesman persisted was a great feature of this dealership, before I bought.
- They did lift the car, and they couldn't find the leak I found. I showed them, and they still wouldn't admit it was leaking. I was so pissed off I was shaking at this point. Now I had the mechanic telling me it's just the undercoating spray I was looking at. I really didn't want to hear that after the salesman and the service manager told me that.
- Anyway, I smeared gear oil all over my hands since they couldn't find any oil anywhere. They had no explanation why the tranny was reading at the low line when I received the car. They topped up the tranny and sent me on my way to monitor it if it was leaking.
Maybe it was a good thing the guy didn't do any major work.
Sorry if I'm being skeptical. This just really concerns me. The mechanic told me if it was gear oil and didn't come from the "dipstick area" it must be a cracked case. It couldn't possibly be the gasket. They "never" leak.
Any other thoughts from anyone? I'll just monitor and pray for now I guess.
Thanks,
Fishman
