Super-Charged Cobra vs WRX
This is not an actual event and I would never participate in illegal drag racing on the public roads or highways. This is posted to only amuse people and to gain social recongnition.
So I had a black Cobra pull up behind me near SFO. The surface roads have a speed limit of about 35MPH so I just cruised along. The freeway has an on ramp onto Highway 380 towards 280. I pulled up the light and we were both waiting for the light to make the left turn up to the highway. It was early and with no other cars around I said to my self "Why not?" The green arrow lights up and off we go. I pulled at least 5 cars lengthes ahead of him but at about 80-90 MPH I saw him picking up so much ground I figured at this point it's all about horsepower. Since I was falling short of what he had,I let off. The long on ramp has two lanes that merge into one and I didn't want to tango with that. At that point he was on my A$$. The road merges onto 380 and he swings out to pass me. As he flew by me I can hear a loud whine sound from his car. Can you spell Super Charger? He knew what he had and wanted to let me know. As he passed me, he had his head out the car and with a cocky look, he floored it.
That's some horsepower. I'd figure he must have had at least 400-450 HP. My buddy has a Stang and says these cars can easily run low 12's when set up right.
So the morral to this story is AWD has the hook-up but once rolling HP takes over. Damn I wished I hade a VS3 kit. Oh well. It's a good thing this never happened. Do not race on public streets or highways as this is unsafe, dangerous, and against the law and never race a black Cobra near SFO area as you will be had.
