A 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man caught driving on the Cotati Grade at speeds exceeding 100 mph are facing prosecution for alleged street racing after their arrests early Friday, the CHP said.
Two officers were traveling northbound on Highway 101 in a single car when they clocked two speeding vehicles at more than 90 mph, CHP Officer Chris Jacobs said.
The two cars reached about 100 mph before the driver of one of them, a red 1995 Acura Integra, noticed the patrol unit and began to slow, Jacobs said.
The second car, a blue 2002 Subaru, continued on, however, reaching an estimated speed of 120 mph before authorities finally pulled it over, she said.
Kurt Wiepking, 20, of Santa Rosa, the Subaru driver, was cited for suspected street racing, a misdemeanor, and booked into the Sonoma County Jail, she said.
He was released after posting bail, jail personnel said.
The second driver, whose name was not released because of his age, was taken to jail and then cited and released to his parents, Jacobs said.
The CHP will recommend both drivers be charged with street racing, Jacobs said.

commit a man crime.. then take the wrath like a man.
its not right that if a 17yr old gets caught doing something illegal they don't get the same punishment as an 18yr old.. if you can do the crime do the time.. no matter the age.

BUT...this is on a whole different level. I just like to be on the other side of the fence sometimes.
