Transmission swap question

Does anyone know if the 6spd STI tran will fit on the 2006 WRX block?

Yes, it will. The STi 6 speed will fit 02-05 WRX, and the 06 WRX trans will fit the 02-05 WRX, so they are all interchangeable.

Sure, that's correct for any Subaru. He asked if you could mate the 6 speed to the 06 WRX block. And yes, you can. Ofcourse you will also haveto install the 6 speed shifter linkage (which usually comes with it if you buy used), 6 speed clutch & flywheel. On top of that you'll need a driveshaft (from a 4EAT, I believe), unless you are going to change out the whole rearend, then you need the R180 rearend...but when you buy that you usually buy the axles and Brembos...seriously, it's never ending. It's not as easy as just buying a 6 speed and bolting it up.
