Tranny options/problems
Can someone PLEASE assure me that the 2003 WRX won't be a demon for me as far as the transmission goes? I've been hearing about so many problems and I almost want to get a honda accord now. For sure I'm getting a car in 2 weeks but I really don't want a WRX if it can't last me a good 10 years.
Here's my situation:
This will be my first stick shift car. I won't be putting more than 270hp out of it, probably 250 in 3 months. I don't do auto-x, rally, or drag, but I like to have fun with it on the street once in a while.
I've done extensive research and it's just scary. Also, what is a dog-box and why don't people like it? Please, someone give me options, I'll be willing to spend up to $6000 to put a STRONG and RELIABLE tranny into my car.

Re: Tranny options/problems
a full dog box has no synchros and will be very noisy. not really driveable around street if you ask me (it can be done, but its a lot of work just to drive around). with 250hp, i think you'll be fine stock wise, just dont upgrade your clutch and dont powershift.
oh and launching at every stop light is not good either.
