Tranny oil issue

I just changed the tranny oil on my 02 WRD 5spd sedan. I used Mobil 1 75-90 synthetic.

I jacked the car up removed the drain plug, let it drain, lowered the car and let it drain for an additional 20 minutes. It stopped dripping at that point.

I then filled it with roughly 3.7 qts. I say roughly because I spilled some and then added about a 1/10 more fluid to compensate for the spilled amount.

When I check the level it reads really high. But according to the amount of oil I used it can't possibly be over filled. So i'm a little confused. The 2002 wrx uses 3.7 Qts right?

In any case, my aging syncros no longer grind going into 4th under hard acceleration. The gears shift super smoothly now. My car has 143K miles on it and it feels like the tranny is brand new.
