Tranny cooler

I'm looking at the same thing for and Auto tranny. Anyone have any experience?
There's a lot of conflicting opinions on which one is the best, which way to hook it up, where it should go in the line, so I'm pretty confused. So far, all I have are more questions.
1) Stacked plates are better, smaller, lighter for the same cooling. Except for maybe permacool? or it's just a matter of preference.
2) Is it possible to overcool the transmission? Some say yes, some say no. I'd probably think cooler is better, except if you're talking about an oil cooler.
3) Should it be hooked up in series or parallel with the auxillary cooler? Seems like advantages and disadvantages for both. Supposedly parallel, less restriction in the flow, but in series, more cooling ability. Is that right?
4) Should it go in before the radiator, or behind? Again, different website recommend different things, I dont' know who to believe.
Can someone shed some light on this?
