someone please measure the length of a fwd drivetrain
I need to know the length front to back of a fwd (pre 96?) impreza drivetrain for a possible swap into another project. I am hoping the fwd tranny is shorter than the awd tranny, but have never seen one and cant find pics anywhere. If someone could get a picture or a length i would appreciate it very much.

What vehicle are you swapping the drivetrain into? If it's an impreza, it will fit. It will probably also fit a Legacy, but I'm not positive.

wheelbase will not help, I need to know how long it is from the front of the motor to the back end of the tranny. I am thinking since the motor is only 2 cylinders long the tranny is going to be the deciding factor on if it will fit into an MR2 or not. My only reason for considering a subaru drivetrain is for the benefits to how low it could be mounted.
