Angry Shifting problems?

Ok. This is hard as hell to explain, So I'm going to try my best and hope you understand =\

I bought a 2006 STi. (First manual transmission car) So I'm driving. It's not way a manual transmission drives like this... (It does have the short shift kit) When I change gears, sometimes its like.. for example, I'm in 1st and going down to 2nd, its like its gripping something JUST above 2nd, and I push down harder, then it clicks into 2nd. Or when I'm stopped, starting off in 1st, I have to sometimes make sure its in first. Sometimes It would catch something JUST below first, and I push tad bit hardr and it goes all the way in first...I thought its spose to shift smooth as a babys ****.

And lets say im rolling like... 3 mph.. Ill push down clutch all the way, and try to put it in 1st gear, and I literally have to force it forward into first... Is this how its spose to be? wtf?

shifter bushings FTW!!!! Also, the shifters on subys are touchy so you have to get used to it. Might want to go to a shop and have them see if the shifter was installed 100% properly or if they can adjust if for you.

That's how it's supposed to me, there's nothing wrong. It's probably more pronounced b/c of the short shifter kit. Also, upgrading your bushing will not make it smooth, in fact, it'll make it even notchier, but the shifter will be tighter with less movement when in gear. If you want to make it downshift smoothly, use double clutching, especially going down to 2nd and definitely 1st gear.
