the reverse synchro is very weak on the 5MT.

I've had it replaced twice, because I couldn't get it not to grind, from a complete stop, when shifting into reverse...

There is no synchro in reverse... Read the rest of the thread. Why would you need a synchro in reverse? Think about it, you're not supposed to shift into it (and you can't) unless you are stopped. Hence no need for a synchro. If a dealer told you ther replaced the synchro, they lied. Probably wanted to charge you for something cuz you brought it in complaining about it being difficult to get into reverse....

okay you twit, just chill...

so I didn't know that it doesn't have a synchro, so just take a pill!

actually, it would be a good idea to have a reverse synchro, because so many ppl (not me tho) shift into reverse while moving.

so in my case they replaced the gear, so that it wouldn't grind all the time...

I have noticed that less intelligent/more sheisty dealerships are offering "one-time/courtesy" type fixes, and it smells like illegal circumventing of the warranty.
