Actually, that's not correct. It does account for the center differential. All that matters for the calculations is the final drive ratio. The final drive in the WRX is 3.90. Whether you get there with a 1:1 center and 3.9 rear or a 1.1:1 center and 3.54 rear (as in the WRX), the final drive is still 3.9.

The reason you're seeing a difference in the speeds is because these are hypothetical, perfect world calculations. The speeds will, of course, be off due to drivetrain losses, aerodynamic drag, and tire friction.

fastwrx4me - Not sure what fwhp is unless your in a non AWD Scooby??? But if you mean AWD then 480whp would more than likely break one of these sooner or later.

Mike,

How much horsepower do you estimate the RA gearset can hold?

Would not like to stake my name on that to be honest as at the point of most AWD cars over 300whp it becomes issues with drivers and how the car is driven.

We have one in our rally car that is 225whp and abused (no real mods and a restricter in place)

We also have a car that puts out 320whp on a Dynojet with no issues in 15k of driving.

These are the only points of reference I have as the other 10 or so local cars we have equiped (20 or so non local as well) I cannot attest to there HP rating.

I hope this helps but my lack of putting my *** online may not be what is required here
