Mike,

Is that "$2600 installed" as in I bring you my car and you take the tranny down, swap parts, and reinstall?

Or is it "$2600 installed" as in I bring you my tranny and you swap parts?

Pretty much from what Mike told me is that they give you another tranny that has already been equip w/ all the necessary hardware. All you do is send back you broken or still good tranny.

Now the install Hmmm that be good.

For anyone considering a gearset/tranny swap, I have created a spreadsheet in Excel of the most common WRX gearsets (gimmie, kaaz, RA, etc.) that shows you MPH in each gear at 500 rpm intervals. There's also a section to calculate RPM at a given MPH (say you want to know what the RPM's will be with the RA gearset at 80 mph in 5th gear).

All you have to enter is your tire sizes and final drive ratio. You can also play around with the gear ratios on the last table which includes room for 6 gears.

If anyone wants this, send me an email.

RA Gearset based on 225/40/18 tires and 3.9 final drive:

For quick calculations yourself:

RPM = (MPH x GEAR RATIO X FINAL DRIVE X 336) / TIRE DIAMETER (in inches)

MPH = (RPM X TIRE DIAMETER (in inches) ) / (GEAR RATIO X FINAL DRIVE X 336)

Tire Diameter (in inches) = (((Width (mm) X Aspect/100 ) X 2) / 25.4) +wheel diameter)

ie: Tire Diameter for 225/40/18 = (225*.4*2)/25.4 + 18 = 25.087"

simpwrx02 - We typically take a CC number as deposit (trusting folks us) and ship you a built tranny, you then have 3 weeks to get us your tranny back before encuring a charge (typically $650).

wrXratd - If you give us a 7 day heads up you will drive your car in at 9:30am (ish) and drive out at 5:30pm with a new rebuilt RA gearset tranny. Of course we can slap a new clutch and flywheel in as well if you like (we stock Exedy and have access to most other brands) We keep your old unit. $2600 parts and labor.

mario - Sent you the shipping quote, it sucked mate to be honest. Wanna move to the main land?

AWD 20T - this is simplier to arrange than you can believe mate

From what I've read it can definitely hold power from a GT30R, (350+whp), but you would still have to treat it nicely, it's no dogbox...
