question about short throw shift??
is the quality really effect shifting? I bought a very cheap *** short throw shift
from ebay, it cost me about $30. it does reduced the distance when
shifting from A to B, but kinda harder to shifting up or down and sometime it stuck can't into other gear, when I still hold the clutch sometime it just can't shifting
too fast, otherwise it just stuck and grind the gear when release clutch
any sugesstion of good brand? or need other mod?
as yesterday when I was driving about 85mph on 5th gear and try to pass the car
then I ridly downshifting to 4th gear, it just stuck and grind my 4th gear, can't into it...kinda painful...>< I don't think I have problem with maunal, driving for many years already and did learning some shifting skill
I installed ACT clutch with stock flywheel, will that be the problem with flywheel too, should I need to upgrade it? it is 2002 wrx
thanks~~if anyone can give me some info

The biggest improvement that I found was not with the short throw shifter, but with the rubber shifter bushings. You can get an upgraded set from kartboy

The new bushings make the gear change a lot more positive and you can go through the gears a lot quicker and more precisely. They are also quite cheap and a good bang-for-the buck upgrade.
Make sure you get both the front and the rear bushings.
