when you installed your kartboy shifter you didn't have to buy new bushing did you? ive been looking around and it seems that kartboy is the way to go. so i was worndering if you had to pay the extra bucks for bushings. and if and when i buy the shifter i will try to give you some help on your problem.

When you say squeaking, where is the noise coming from? could it be at the spot where you put the bolt through? You might have that too tight. It only needs a small amount of torque, Look here:

The main thing to watch out for with the KB SS is:
The shift lever interfering with the metal shift gate surround when in 1st. gear. you'll most likely need to trim that plate.
Also, definately get the KB bushings, afterwards, it will feel like a million bucks!

yeah, i had to dremel that plate pretty good to get enough clearance. i'd take a look at that, since there was plenty of grease left in the socket after i pulled my stock shifter out.

rotate the plate or the shift lever?
Will the plate rotate w/out interfering in another gear?
I know that if you rotate the lever, it will bring the shift **** closer to the radio...

You don't need to trim the plate, just rotate it 180° and you will be fine.

trust me, get the bushings...I actually had my shifter on with and w/out bushings, and after the bushings it felt "****".
there was much less noise/vibration, and it was slick and smooth shifting too...

The plate will not interfere with any other gear when spun 180*. I dremeled it at first when after installing my SS but everntually got tired of trying to take off so much metal. My SS is double adjustable and I had to take of a Sh**load of metal to get it to work. I rotated it, bent up the tabs and screwed it back down. Works fine, no rubbing. Shifts are SHORT.

It's not daunting just detailed

This plate here just take it off and spin it around so the bottom is now the top. 2 min tops:

sorry for my grammar. i meant the bushing switch seemed daunting! i suspect it's alittle more envolved than switching the plate. 'cause if the bushings are that easy i'm looking at my next mod! plus i do like the idea of supporting tom.... thanks peaty.
