Mobil Tranny Fluid
I've posted this question with another subject heading but no one has replied.
Has anyone had any luck with the synthetic Mobil Transmission fluid in a manual transmission.
If there is another post on this topic I apologize. I could not find it in my search.

Mobil Gear Oil
I have a 2000 2.5RS and have used Mobil 75W90 synthetic gear oil, since I got the car and also use it in the rear diff. I use Mobil Synthetic 5W30 motor oil in the engine. I have 25,000 miles on the car and it runs smooth and strong and clean. Highly recommended.

Car Info: 02 Impreza WRX sedan
It would be interesting to re-visit this topic when the MY02 cars are about five years old with at least 60k to 100k on the clock.
I have used Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil in two previous cars and current one after break-in, with good results. I plan on using Red Line 75W90NS gear oil in my 02WRX tranny as recommended by a Red Line rep via e-mail less than a week ago. I would probably use Red Line motor oil in my WRX but I get a decent price on Mobil 1 10w30 (wish it was 5w30) at Costco that I couldn't pass it up.
I wouldn't bother with synthetics unless I planned on keeping the car for many years. That's the case with my WRX daily driver.

Thank's for the input
I put the Mobil 1 75W-90 in the tranny and the rear diff. Initially I couldn't notice the shifting but as I drove it, there definitely seemed to be some smoothness to it...something that the factory didn't provide.
We'll see what time tells. Overall I'm happy.
Thanks for the input.
