lightened flywheel w/stock clutch...yes or no?

ok, here's the deal. soon, my car w/b going in for some work and i have the opportunity to have the guys replace the stock flywheel for a lightened one before replacing the clutch, etc.

so my question is, is it wise to use a lightened flywheel w/a stock clutch setup? also, any recommendations from you guys running aftermarket flywheels? thx

On the flywheel question,

I'd stick with a light chromoly flywheel. They'll be in the 12-13 lb range. I wouldn't go much lighter. I'm leary of aluminum flywheels, but if you insist, get a reputable one. Just my opinion.

go with the one piece b\c the stock chutch should have as much surface area as possible and with a aluminum flywheel most use steel friction inserts with lots of bolt to hold it to flywheel and it looks like 10% or more S.A. gone which means alot less holding power with the stock disk and chromoly is also cheaper in price

chutch is not needed it is only replaced with aem because the oem is bad but flywheel is taken off to be resurfaced anyway so most people buy better lighter one instead of resurfacing old heavy one
