Drivetrain Encompasses driveline components such as the torque converter, clutch, transmission, shifter, front and center differentials, driveshaft, rear differential, and axles.

I'm missing something here.

My UTEC and tach disagree at lower speeds. The UTEC is saying that I'm ~150rpm lower than the tach @ 2500 and 3750. These were in lower gears, not at 80mph; but I don't think that that would affect anything.

Well, the spreadsheet says you should be turning 3600 RPM at 80mph, so that 150 RPM difference matches that exactly. Problem solved.

See, I'm pretty lazy when it actually comes to the hands-on stuff, so theoretical discussions are right up my alley.

so after all that, the gear box for a 2002 wrx, and a rs are the same, in ratios. 1-5? if they are, is the sti tranny the same box with smaller gears(shorter), or is it the same box with one extra. becasue i think it would be nice to keep the 1-5 gears, and add a full 6th gear, that is in ratio relation to 5 gear. kinda like gran turismo, where you can change sport to full out ratios for the tranny.
to bad you can not just have a tranny like a bike and just add another ring from 42 teeth to like 58. that would be fun.

No, RS ratios are actually much shorter than the WRX. The 5 and 6 speed gearboxes are totally different, for which STi owners are grateful.
