If you're really lucky, getting a good flush will cure the problem. If you aren't, you're going to need a new torque converter and/or a full rebuild.

I doubt it's electronic. The slipping is usually either the valve body not providing enough hydraulic pressure to hold it in gear, or the TC being bad. Total WAG, I'd say $7-900 for the rebuild. Don't quote me on that though.
