Help...could it be my throwout bearing
Well I've done a search and I still cant find anything relavent to my situation. But, just recently, like in the past week or so I've notice a distinct rattle coming from what sounds like right under the car toward the back of the motor (sounds like it comes from behind the stereo area from inside the cabin of the car) everytime I downshift. I dont know for sure if it could be anything wrong but as the rattle is loud enough to hear in the cabin of the car it annoys me .
Just a little more info. the noise happens inbetween 5000 and 2500 rpm only when the car is fully warmed up but not all the time, and from 4th all the way to 2nd gears. I know its hard to diagnose a rattling noise over the interwebs but wondering if anyone else experiences this and if so if its something I should get checked out.

Update: recently it does the same metallic-rattling noise when I rev the motor aswell and after listening to it a little more I've noticed that the sound usually happens at 3100rpm and continues all the way down to 1800rmp. If you were sitting inside the car the noise would be right behind the firewall in the back of the stereo area. the tranny fluid was a little low so I added more to get the level back to full but I dont know what else to check.

Well tried that and still a rattle, the thing is it doesnt do it when I accelerate only when downshifting and sometimes at speed I hear a little rattle. I tried parking it in the garage and revving the motor to see if I could get the same result with the hood up but I cant seem to replicate the sound unless Im driving the car. Super wierd.
