Help with failing wheel bearing on my 95 Legacy
Please help, this is serious!
I had the right rear wheel bearing replaced on my 95 Legacy wagon in:
August, 99 at 75,000 mi
March, 01 at 100,000 mi
Sept 02 at 121,000 mi.
Then in Oct. 02 when it went out again at 122,000 mi. my mechanic recommended replacing the hub assembly (dealers suggestion). It didn't work cause it went out again last week at 128,000 mi. The last two bearings were replaced under warranty.
The mechanic says they have replaced everything but the axle and they don't think it is the problem, so-o-o he doesn't know what else to do!!
I've never had an accident so the frame is ok. Per this discussion, I asked him if the grease in all these replacement bearings had been replaced and the mechanic said that they came sealed and weren't designed to be repacked but he did take apart and repack the one he replaced last week to check it out thoroughly.
Do I have to sell the car to cut my losses?? I love driving it through the snow during the Buffalo winters and hate the thought of giving it up. This is like a nightmare,
Jennig
