Full Depressed Clutch Sticking?
I have 850 miles on my '03 WRX and for the past 100 or so I've been feeling the clutch kind of stick when it's fully depressed (which is whenever I shift gears). For a second, it felt like gum or something was stuck to the back of the clutch pedal and it was just getting stuck and unstuck to the floor mats, but after checking, it's the pedal. Does anyone know what this is? Or if this is bad or not?

Agreed - even with 9k plus miles on the odo my clutch never exhibited "sticking" behavior. I'd get it checked out.

I had the same problem with my 99 RS, usually when it was humid out. There is a bolt or screw up by the pedals that you can adjust. It is actually located above the gas pedal IIRC.

Was this problem preceded by the clutch pedal getting softer and softer, not disengaging the clutch until the pedal's almost all the way to the floor? That's what mine's doing...AGAIN.
Because of this problem, I've had the master cylinder replaced under warranty, then it came back again. Then they replaced the clutch, and it came back again.
It used to be just when it was hot out and I was doing a lot of stop and go. Now it's doing it more regularly, if I've been driving for more than an hour, even in the cool winter weather, (not that cold, I'm in Northern CA.)
I was going to flush the fluid this weekend. It hasn't been changed for over 30k w/ a couple track days on it. I was hoping it was just the fluid. This thread makes it sound like maybe its my slave cylinder. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a 99 RS and my situation seems somewhat similar. There was no indication (that I noticed) of any slipping or decrease in pressure when mine went. I drove to the store.... upon leaving I started having trouble shifting and immediately the pressure was gone. I have a heavy duty clutch so it was very noticable when this happened.
I was trying to get help from a previous owner of the car but that guy is useless so it look sliek I am taking it to a shop. 80k + miles on the car so no warranty help for me. Anyone know how much this is going to hurt my bank account?

mine as well...
Hey all,
I have a '02 WRX that's got about 30k miles on it. I just had the clutch replaced about 2 months ago and now the clutch won't come back up from the floor. Like there is no pressure from it's normal position to about 2 inches from the ground.
There is definatley a leak coming off of the master cylinder -
Is there a seal to fix this??
