Denied...
After getting the run around for several days, it has become painfully obvious that SOA and my local dealers have no intention of fixing my juddering clutch under warranty. It looks like I'm going to have to play hardball if I'm going to get anywhere with these weasels. I'd like to know what action others have taken when denied legitimate warranty work by SOA. Is there anything I can do???

Did you mention the service bullitin?? If you havn't, the number is bulletin # 3-51-02. It was released on 1/15/03. There is a link somewhere in the clutch shudder thread. If you ***** enough, they will fix your car. It IS a documented problem and they should repair it under warranty. They can be very biased agianst younger people. I know they turned down a bunch of younger guys with the same problem at the dealer near me, and I think the service manager was quoted as saying "I wont fix some punk kid's car that is being beat on every day." I dont know if this is your case, but dont let them get over on you. You could always try another dealer....

Oh yeah, I forgot. They had no problem with my mods. Boost controller, intake, catback, and BOV. It is a problem they are having with all cars. Mods should not make a difference.

If the dealer has your complaint on record before your warranty expired, SOA should authorize the fix. Also, you should try pressuring them to include it under the powertrain warranty, or explain to you how a clutch is not part of the powertrain.

the love for SOA keeps on building...they're lucky that they produce a damn fine car (minus the tranny etc) if not, they wouldnt be in business too long. personally, I'm taking them to small claims about my trans breaking. worst comes to worse, you might have to pay for the parts and then take them to court after the work is done. with a TSB out on the clutch shudder issue, I doubt anything they have to say would hold up against your argument. Good luck!

Mine was fixed a few weeks ago and my car has 65K and mods here and there. My problem was documented at my 30K checkup. Still they could have been dicks and said I had too many miles or something about the mods but they didn't. They would rather have my business in the future. Find another dealer to ask I say...

I remember reading somewhere on this forum that the problem was fixed on the '04's. I hope to God this is true. Anyone know for sure?

Is this a problem with 2004s? I would think not, but then again you never know.

The tsb says the new 'fixed' parts were introduced in the 03 model year cars. So, 04 should be good. 6MT would be even better

The warranty wording on the clutch is little vague. The clutch disk lining is covered for wear during the 1yr / 12,000 period. The flywheel and other powertrain components are covered under the 5 / 60,000 warranty. Since this isn't a wear issue, it seems I should be covered.
By the way I'm still waiting to hear back from the dealer. Apparently the "rep" is on vacation this week.
