Clutch Shudder Warranty
#331
because you have that many miles, the odds are that the dealer will say no. the clutch is only covered up to 36k. which i was well past before i tried to get this done. plus, i thought this was only covering 02 models. i can be wrong about that part, but it doesn't hurt to try

Dealership refusal to fix judder problem?
Has anybody else had a dealership claim that they can't replicate the problem? My '02 WRX Wagon has shuddered almost every morning for about a year now. I've taken it in to the dealership on 3 separate occasions and amazingly even after leaving it for 3 days at a time, they state that the clutch works perfectly.

Have you brought it to a different dealer? That's what I did. The dealer I bought the car from was completely useless. I brought it to Belknap Subaru (www.subaruxtras.com) in central NH and they took care of me with absolutely no problems. That's how all dealerships should be but they aren't.

Update
Well, even though the car wouldn't shudder on the test drive, Subaru of Dallas had a change of heart and finally came through. They replaced the clutch and flywheel and now the WRX is shudder free!
I think my letter to SOA helped, so my recommendation to anybody having issues with your subie is to keep detailed documentation and write SOA, copying your dealership, asking them to repair your car and honor the warranty you paid for.
