My car is still under warranty......and I will complain again at the next oil change.

The squark returned after 2 weeks or so. It always goes away when the dealer lubes the pivot on the fork that moves the throwout bearing.

I am still seeking a different lube that will stay put and stand up to the heat for the pivot. The dealer has an ace mechanic who made a special tool to put lube on the pivot, which is within the bell housing.

This is not a problem with the sleeve and pin that is where the clutch pedal pivots. The sleeve is cheap plastic and can fall apart, but that is not the problem here.....

 

Hey there - i have a 2004RS with 60k on it - at around 50k, the clutch got stiffer and now creaks and squeaks when its pushed in in all gears- still shifts fine, but now they tell me i need an overhaul...........too bad, i was hoping to get over 100k out of it.....................

it only happens when its hot - first thing in the morning its dead silent. Drive for about 10 minutes and there it is! I have decided that i am going to just live with it as i dont feel like spending 900.00 on such a major repair while i still have payments!
