Clicking noise in transmission after dumping clutch
Hey guys it's Mike. So I got my new 02 WRX I've been working on slipping the clutch cause that's the best way to start it according to you guys. And well my friend drove the car with me in it the other night and tried dumping the clutch. He revved to about 5k RPM's and just dumped it. Right after he did that now the car's transmission makes a clicking noise and you can hear it spinning as well anytime you don't have the clutch pressed in. Anyone got any ideas of what it is? And is it safe to drive? Also just to make sure one more time slipping the clutch is the best way to start a WRX right? If not what is? And how bad does it hurt the clutch to slip the clutch? Also last question my car is still under manufacturer's bumper to bumper warranty will it cover fixing this there are no mods on my car to void the warranty? Thanks for the help guys. Yours, Mike

you DONOT dump the clutch in WRX, espeically in first. Your friend might have done some damage to it already but I can't say for certain. Bring it in and have it check up. Either way consider a lesson learned.
