anyone have any documentation on how to replace the front axels in a 95 impreza 2.2L?

 

It's pretty easy. You can do it on jackstands in probably 30 min with airtools. You dont even need to take the wheels off (if you dont have a centercap or if you can pop it off)

Jack up the car.
Secure it with jackstands.
With car in neutral climb under a car in the middle.
Use some sort of a pin pusher. Something like 3-4mm in diam and take the innter pins out. They go through the inner skinny part of the inner CV boot. You might need to rotate the tires to get a good view.
Do L and R side axles.
Remove the bolts holding the control arms (lower, douh...) I think they are 19mm.
Use air impact gun and remove the axle nut.
Now you can swing the hub out and get the axle out.

Very simple.

You can do it with taking the wheel off and unbolting the strut from the knuckle, but then you will need to reallign the car.

You might also need to use a pry bar to help get the axles off the tranny output halfshafts.
