Anyone have one on there car? know anything about this? what brand, part number, etc. are you using?

From reading the forums, the most popular tranny cooler is the Hayden model 403. Cheap and works great.

I went with a permacool tranny cooler thinline series. Here is some good reading material on it and the reasons why I choose this over the Hayden:

Does the kit come with everything you need to hook it up to our 4EAT? Do you have to buy anything seperate!? if so what are they and where might i find them. also did you notice any difference in performance with the tranny cooler? i know that this mod is for longevity issues but i was wondering if there are some possibilities of performance gain. meaning you dont have to worry about your tranny getting to hot when doing run after run at the track... things like that!

You can get both the Hayden and Permacool coolers as a kit and it will come with all the hardware you need to install. Try Pepboys or summitracing.com or jegs.com or bulkparts.com , etc.. The optional part is a temp gauge.

Heat is the number one failure of auto trannys. The cooler will help keep temps in check. Synthetic oil is also recommended as it can handle higher heat better than dino oil.

I can't notice any difference with the cooler, but I'm sure the tranny does! I went with the permacool model 1011, but if your at the track a lot, I'd go with the larger models. It's been posted before that you should allow cool down periods between runs to let everything cool down, not just the tranny.
